Panwa House @ Cape Panwa Hotel

This is a Sino-Portuguese mansion (of which there are quite a few in Phuket Town) but what this restaurant has is it's location. Panwa House is but a few metres from the rolling sound of the waves - beautiful.

The Traditional Thai food was as good as the building was special - a real must is the chicken baked in Pandanus Leaves...

My friend Olivier swears by the Beef Massaman.

All that we had was good - we will visit again - I do work there.

Panwa Guest House Coffee is around the corner from where I work at Cape Panwa so this was simply a stroll around the corner.


I chose a banana latte - too sweet for me but the ambience was comfortable and I understand that there is free wifi?

Moon House Restaurant (Munchhausen)

Moon House Restaurant was somewhere on the way home from work and we did visit it a number of times because of the ease of getting there. The location close to the road would not suit everyone and there was not a lot more to see the other way!

But we were not there for the view or the comfort - we were there for a pizza - with extra cheese.

I had the Schnitzel.

There seemed to be a great deal of attention placed to this one person on the wall - we think that she is the owner?

Looking at the images on foursquare there may also be Japanese food here for sale and Thai food but we have never come here for anything else. Odd that there had been no reviews on TripAdvisor for 2 years...

A quick stop for a bite to eat would be the best way that I would describe it.

The Mangrove Panwa

We visited The Mangrove Panwa because it was so close to our house and it was Christmas so Jemma and I were in a very happy mood and I can't really remember a lot BUT the satay was good and the coffee was strong. 

BUT the prawns for the salad (which was bursting with flavour were not of a very good quality).

It was better than our first visit.

We will return - it was also a very nice touch that Jemma received a Christmas present from the staff.

Panwa Garden Spa

The Panwa Garden Spa is just a stone's throw from our house and a pleasant escape for us all.


Until they decide to improve the restaurant food and finish digging the pool!


The noise was unbearable and the food was much the same.  The lemon sodas were returned and the food was not made with fresh ingredients.


We will wait until the changes have stopped before we return.

Mang Moom in Borae

This is a little coffee shop / restaurant which is around the corner from our house.  It is next to the road that descends to Panwa Beach Garden Spa.


It serves a lovely coffee and I pop out of here if I have a spare 10 minutes.  They did have large animals on the surrounding trees but they have gone......


I do not have a map for it ...... yet
