T Origin and Pang Hom Chui

T Origin and Pang Hom Chui are Thai companies which have recently sprung up around Phuket. This outlet was opposite Bangkok Hospital.

It seems to be a type of Roadside Cafe selling Thai pastries with a Western Twist - always in for a new place whilst my wife was at the hairdressers I tried something...

This was a small coffee shop bar with two seats - this was T Origin.

Outside of here they were deep frying bits that people were having for breakfast and there was certainly a steady stream of people for these bits - this was Pang Hom Chui.

There was not a lot more than I could see to indicate whether they served anything more but what I had then perfectly fitted someone who needed a small nibble.  I had some waffles and and Iced Tea - just enough for someone wandering in Phuket Town.

After visiting this outlet and on posting this I saw that there were 8 more outlets to visit.

Pancake Corner

Pancake corner is a place that I have visited a number of times and I was surprised that I hadn't posted a visit on here.

It has a wonderful position adjacent to a roundabout so it was very easy to pop in to grab something. There are tables to sit at and there are stools if you want to sit around and watch out the window as the traffic goes by - sitting here was my favourite choice.

There does seem to be a larger menu but I simple chose from the pictures on the wall!

So what is there to eat? Well there is certainly a selection but I have only ever had the drinks and a pancake dish - both very nice but the pancakes are a little on the small side

The pancakes were very nice and certainly looked good.

Clean, organised, convenient, tasty and a little expensive.

Mando

Mando Restaurant was chosen because we were caught in the rain. The rain began, we ran in and then the blinds were lowered...

There was certainly a choice of things to have but I did not feel inspired by the menu, in fact I think that that is my problem because of eating Thai food pre-dominantly. The menu was looked through and dinner was chosen - the staff were exemplary we were never hassled but we got everything swiftly.

Looking back on our visit the best was the gravy and the glass of wine.

It is not somewhere that we have returned since because of this - so I looked at TripAdvisor. The general feeling was it was better than I thought if you were looking for Western food.

Panwa Roti

Panwa Roti is a local restaurant in the Cape Panwa area in the south of Phuket. It has been a favourite of my daughter for a number of years.

I like to visit there for the standard 'American breakfast'.

My daughter likes to visit there for the Roti.

Roti is a wheat flour pan-fried bread with Muslim origins. In Thailand, roti bread is similar to India's flat bread maida paratha and Malaysia's roti canai. It is most popularly served as a snack topped with sweetened condensed milk, white sugar and banana or even chocolate. In the South it is also served alongside curry, especially for breakfast.

But we both like the Patongkoh.

Then there's time for a coffee...

Eleven Two & Company - coffee

Eleven Two + Company is a place I first visited with my family and Jamie in April 2015.

It certainly is in a good location - in the heart of Phuket Old Town on Thalang Road - a perfect place to see and watch the world pass you by.

It is relatively new here in Phuket and one of the lovely things is that the coffee shops are trying more and more to entice you - today it was a small chocolate. A very nice smooth coffee with just enough milk on the top which did not disappear or you could not find the coffee...

I will certainly visit again.

For what price - why are more hotels and coffee shops not doing this - note: Starbucks is riding a very big wave of popularity and obviously doesn't have to!

It does do a breakfast here - which I have not tried but the beer is cold... The world outside is wonderful and certainly different and every time I go there is something different.
