Lianapa - Cloud 19

This is a restaurant which is close to home and we have come to enjoy - it is not a cheap restaurant but the evenings are always wonderful and the dinner is very good.

Lianapa is actually within a small boutique resort called Cloud 19.

This time we chose to have some Thai food and yes this was a little bit more expensive but it was worth it.

We did feel that the Western dishes were lacking something for the price that we were being charged but the cakes took it away for us.

When Jemma had so much fun - it was a wonderful restaurant BUT would like to use the pool - there is a surcharge - we came prepared with colouring things and bits for Jemma this time.

Index

Index is a shopping mall with a large selection of items for your home - Index is between Central festival and Tesco Lotus - 2 big shopping malls.

The coffee does not have a lot of strength so it my not be for everybody and the cups and saucers are a little strange but if you are simply waiting for your partner to finish shopping - good.

Patio

This restaurant is located on the beach edge at the Crowne Plaza Hotel - Phuket Panwa Beach Resort.

We chose to go to Patio, for a change and because we had such a good cup of coffee and service at Biscuit previously.

The location was superb - whilst we sipped a glass of reasonable and chilled white wine Jemma played along the beach front. The service was a little slow but we didn't really care because the location was magnificent - sadly it was all downhill from there.

I like to eat a risotto when I am out because Chuen (my wife who is Thai) does not like me to make it at home - because the rice is wrong.  Well it was wrong - it was dreadful.

After this I chose the creme brulle and this had no flavour and had not been made / finished.

So I had a coffee and it was almost espresso strength but served as a coffee

Everything looked good but...

The pizza was good mind you - Jemma devoured it and I liked the fresh bread but it will be a while until we go back - Jemma chose The Chalet last week rather than Crowne Plaza so the pizza could not have been that good?

Body Shape - Central Festival (closed)

We needed to go to the bank in Central Festival and after visiting Chuen wanted to pick up some groceries. The groceries are a little more expensive here - but sometimes...

I did not want to go shopping so I waited adjacent to the tills - I was pleased to see that there was a coffee shop (and other small shops) adjacent to the tills.

The coffee was smooth and very to my taste - almost a shame Chuen finished her shopping - I nearly had another one - funny shape for the cups though?

Chik Kee - Chinese Duck

The best place to buy a number of foods is off the street in the market and in the little shops.

Chinese duck is one of my wife's favourite dishes and this is the only place to buy it. Sorry we ate it all before I could take a photograph - it was that good!

Auntie Annies - Central Festival

I wanted somewhere to wait whilst I was in Central Festival and there are a number of Auntie Annie outlets in Phuket and Thailand and they are known for their pretzels.

Well they are certainly not known for their coffee - dreadful taste and the splurt of chocolate only added to the travesty of the foam on the coffee.

Monkey Pod

This was certainly a surprise. We had visited Koh Yao Noi, arriving back at Bang Rong Pier.

We were certainly tired on our day out and we drove slowly home and we were surprised by a very new building which had been constructed by the side of the road - Monkey Pod.

This is clearly a new restaurant and coffee shop and there are a number of interesting dishes - I did not expect Lobster bisque. The furniture was of Western design and the restaurant itself was spotless. There were also tables set up outside, although we had had enough outside after our day.

The food was okay but the restaurant was a welcome place to stop where we were expecting to go further.

The restaurant was busy with people who all seemed to know each other and was very welcoming

Good luck with your project!
