Ete coffee - Central

Perfect - a comfortable chair, a good book and an immaculately presented coffee.

And it tasted smooth, almost a shame to drink it...

This outlet was in Central Department Store in Phuket Town

The Chalet (6th visit)

Another dinner at The Chalet - I do enjoy this restaurant AND it is extremely convenient for me because it is on the Sakdidej between Cape Panwa and Phuket Town.

The Massamman Curry was superb :-)

The Circle Coffee boutique

I took Chuen to work and then wandered aimlessly around and as I turned the corner I found a new coffee shop at the 'Clocktower Roundabout' in Phuket Town - where the Metropole and Phuket Plearn Wan restaurant is.

I entered and was immediately welcomed by happy staff, pleasant music, giggling school girls and comfortable air-conditioning - a hang out for young people.

There was also a boutique shop connected to it - obviously for me - Chuen can go shopping whilst I have a coffee.

What a cup of coffee - smooth and strong!
(I have been told to try the cakes)

Black Canyon (2nd review)

There are a number of Black Canyon coffee shops scattered throughout Phuket - the one that I frequent the most is in Tesco's - Black Canyon is a Thai brand.

The flavour of the standard is coffee is good but unfortunately with the cold coffees they add too much syrup - so ask for the syrup 'on the side'.

Koo Kwan Dim Sum

The photo above is the shop that we entered into to have our more traditional Chinese breakfast - it was very busy - the shop is located on Phuket road in Phuket Town.

OK Dim Sum is not my choice but the excitement from the guests of the restaurant and the number of Dim Sums which I saw being served meant that it was obviously very popular amongst those who enjoyed their Dim Sum.

The restaurant is Koo Kwan

Wine Connection 3rd visit

We visited here previously and went back the following week.

Then we went back again in July 2011 and the food was extremely slow - the pizza above was half eaten before the cold meat platter - see previous blog.

We asked twice where our order was and.... we gave up and I complained and wanted to leave and... the service was clearly unaccustomed to a complaint and there was little said, I did not want to pay the service charge on the food because I did not feel that there had been any - NO, they could not do that - now bear in mind that this was 24 baht we could not.

I have since found out that I am not the only person who experienced this problem... i hope it does not continue.

Baan Rimlay

I visited Baan Rimlay which is adjacent to the more popular
restaurant Nikita's on Rawai beach.

I was not impressed by the service of the staff (it was low season)
but the lunch was great.

Patonko in Phuket

Paton ko is a Thai version of the Thai dumpling and is delicious for breakfast with some sweet condensed milk - well my daughter and millions of other Thais think so.

We buy ours from a small local restaurant at Cape Panwa - on the corner and I now understand why my daughter likes to take me to work.

They recently won the silver prize for their paton ko at the Halal Festival.

Roadside Coffee in Phuket Town

I do like to have a coffee whilst I wander about and I decided to visit my favourite corner coffee shop whilst I was visiting the Baba Wedding Festival in Phuket Town.

Delicious and I do not know what they use to make it and how they can make the flavours blend. If I remember correctly I asked for an iced cappuccino.

I had another coffee that morning in an air-conditioned cafe and I do not need to tell you which one was better and cost a third.
