Parlai Seafood

Parlai Seafood is somewhere that we like to visit for some authentic Thai food and it is not far from home.

Parlai seafood has a wonderful position on the coast of the Andaman Sea. It is a focus for a lot of local people - there is a community of fishermen and they are often tied up in the early evening. The tables are the regular stone and matching stone seating - really quite uncomfortable sometimes - I think it is dependent on how much you drink or the plastic chairs.

There are the standard aquariums where you are able to choose which particular swimming lobster or crab you wish to eat. This I leave entirely to my wife as I would not know how you are able to choose which one - this is much the same as the fruit sellers tapping the durian with a stick to find out which one is ready?

After choosing from the menu it is always time to order another beer and ice.

The food always arrives swiftly and is freshly prepared - we really cannot fault it - traditional Thai food much loved by the local Thai people and what people come to Thailand for.

Then the sun begins to set and it really is quite a special place.

Chaiyo Seafood (ไชโยซฟด)

Chaiyo Seafood is a local seafood restaurant near our home adjacent to the klong and is certainly a place to visit. In face it is usually quite busy with Thai people which is already a good sign.

There is a floating platform adjacent to the main restaurant and has a number of places to choose your fresh food OR there are the more common 'tanks'.

We always have oysters when we visit and they are always worth having.

The pleasure that I have is all of the added details to it - wonderful.

Then it still has the best bua tod in Phuket.

The som tam was also a pleasure - we certainly has a great selection this evening.

Finishing with these small fish (deep fried) and lemon grass - superb, no able to eat the all of the fish though...

Parlai seafood

Parlai is a seafood restaurant which is certainly not a glamouros place to look at - in fact it sometimes looks like it do with a good clean..

However, like the best Som Tum in Phuket the food is what you are there for and it is a place that Thai people like to visit which is always a good sign. Then the menu always helps - it is not a plush menu - which also means that they have not spent their money on something else.

Paralai is in a great position - I would also visit the Rawai fresh food market on the other side of the pier and we also like to visit Nikita's Italian adjacent to the water's edge.

We just ordered more and more food and each one was as good as the last one - thank you for the food and the service we received.

The Cove

The Cove is a restaurant (and cottages) which took over from 'The Secret Cove' and next to 'The Ship Inn'.

Well we were a little taken aback when we first visited - because it was so nicely done.

We love to sit adjacent to the waters edge but raised up onto a small wooden platform above it - a wonderful place to watch the sun setting...

The food is predominantly Western but there are Thai dishes available - but we enjoy the Western.

Predominately we choose to have something from the selection of fish

- our daughter is very happy with the pizza.

The cocktails are very nice - some more than others

Baan Had Rawai / Rawaila Seafood Restaurant (ราไวย์ล่า ซีฟู๊ด)

This is a spot that we take Thai friends who are visiting us but don't necessarily live in Phuket (and it does not cost too much). The restaurant was at the end of the road (opposite to the market end) but if you are going to look for better prices, lots of fresh fish and a different experience then try the Market end!

However we had family with us, it was close to the beach and an advantage was that it was not too busy!

So as soon as we sat down we were served very quickly - I do like it when this happens - I usually have an extra beer purely because of this...

Thai food is a very social food and sharing the food is one of the highlights - blog with a great many more.

What we ate we were very happy with
