Je T'aime

Je T'aime is somewhere we visited on Valentine's Day (apt choice we thought).

Je'Taime is one of the few Vietnamese Restaurants in Phuket and it is on the outskirts of Phuket Old Town, opposite Lock Tien and near to the Local Noodles - เบรคแตก (Brake Taek).

There is a small entrance to it and it is easy to miss - inside it looks and feels a little European - although it is not. Checkered table clothes and it was not Vietnamese music playing.

We were swiftly taken upstairs where there were a number of tables to sit and upstairs it was quiet, there was one couple - it was lunch time!

The food came swiftly and it was immediately clear that it was made for us. The rolls were delicious and swiftly devoured - after this I was not sure that the food that we had was actually Vietnamese though.

The salads arrived and they were equally as edible - nothing stayed on the table for long!

The restaurant does not only sell Vietnamese food but serves Thai food as well - so next time I am explicitly going to only ask for Vietnamese food!

Mac-chiato House Cafe

Mac-chiato House is certainly a place to 'chill'.

Not only is the air-conditioning great but the youngsters seem to like to hang out here. It is quite tastefully designed with a Western view in mind I would understand.

The espresso was a delight - strong, smooth and hot! The mousse that I had with it was certainly sweet and it was the perfect compliment!

There seemed to be an Internet Station and lots of bits for sale but I was not interested - then whilst I was writing this I looked at Mac-chiato House facebook and found that it was also a restaurant!

i46

i46 is a coffee shop with so much character it is impossible not to love!

On my previous visit I was welcomed so beautifully by the whole family I was reminded what makes Phuket so special.

I have a friend called Dawn and her website also tells us how wonderful the coffee shop is and how welcoming the family are.

The outside is interesting with a plethora of brochures about Phuket and a traditional bicycle.

I really think that I may try to go in soon because they are selling mooncakes! As well as the shack and Cafe Latte that I purchase there are fruit juices, international cakes and some Postcards of Traditional Phuket Town

Chino@Cafe Gallery

Chino Cafe is in Phuket Old Town and it really does have a ambience to it.

There is a swing hanging outside - which is more for looking at than playing on (we tried) and it really is well situated. The decor has a hint of Western feeling to it - wooded shelving and chairs. A collection of interesting articles will be alongside the room - some are not for sale.

An interesting place to visit.

Then comes the coffee - made carefully, don't expect quick service here though.

The air conditioning is on when you walk in so the atmosphere is pleasant after a walk down the roads of Phuket Town - (there is a habit of coffee shops not putting on their air-conditioning until a guest walks in which I find annoying - so thank you).

The coffee is smooth and hot, needing no sugar.

Then (like Phuket Tea Station) there is an opportunity to purchase some Tau Sar Piah and they are delicious,

but they are called Taosor.  I do not know whether they are prepared by the same company - Kanom Keng Tin - however.

Looking at their facebook link they also prepare food, maybe next time but i like it to pop in for a coffee.
