The Cove

The Cove is a restaurant (and cottages) which took over from 'The Secret Cove' and next to 'The Ship Inn'.

Well we were a little taken aback when we first visited - because it was so nicely done.

We love to sit adjacent to the waters edge but raised up onto a small wooden platform above it - a wonderful place to watch the sun setting...

The food is predominantly Western but there are Thai dishes available - but we enjoy the Western.

Predominately we choose to have something from the selection of fish

- our daughter is very happy with the pizza.

The cocktails are very nice - some more than others

บะหมี่แป๊ะเถว - Pae Teaw Noodle House

Looking for a place to eat noodles which are prepared for the local people? Then look no further than here for that original taste! This is great if you are looking for something authentic.

They make the noodles adjacent to the restaurant and they were not making any the day that we went - but possibly another time.

The noodles and your dish was made for you whilst you waited. Wow - this was certainly fresh and I could not get enough.

Whilst we waited we had the nibbles on the table and some Iced Tea...

We have been again.

Guey Teo Tom Yan

Guey Teo Tom Yan is a small noodle shop which sprung up swiftly and was certainly a place where we went  to get our lunch - but the next week was not there BUT a month later it was closed, but last week it was there again.

I was told that the Chef usually cooks in Bangkok but like to come to Phuket - which would explain why it is not always open. I hope that it stays there this time!

This is certainly a local Thai restaurant - there was no menu at all and there were some dishes prepared for you to choose from.

Another indicator that it is for the local people is that they do not waste their time taking the prawns apart - in fact this does mean that there is more flavor (but not for everyone).

And that's what these bowls are - full of flavor!

You must also try the iced coffee though - it was delicious...

I did wonder about the choice of paintings on the wall though...

Of course there was some shaved ice to have after the noodles...

Rush coffee (Chillva Market)

Rush coffee is a relatively new coffee shop - it opened approximately when the Chillva Market opened.

So I visited it when I was there in the morning and I was surprised that it was open - there seemed to be a business meeting in their in the morning - the table was empty when I left.

But the market was closed so the view was not that good...

JailBreak Burger And Coffee

This was something I happened to find purely because I was at the Phuket Immigration Office to renew a visa and I arrived at the wrong time and I had to wait another hour!

Note: I have not done this again and always arrive about 8am and never on a Friday.

So it is next to the road and next to a number of motor bikes waiting to give you a ride somewhere - they left me alone because I told them I was waiting for my visa.

I had a wonderful cappuccino as I waited and watched the world pass me by - a great spot to wait if you need to go to the Immigration Office for your paperwork.

Note 2: Interesting read on Tripadvisor about the delivery of the burger in jail?
