The 9th Cafe - Siam Paragon

The Ninth Cafe is a trendy restaurant in the heart of Bangkok.

"The Ninth Café, established in 1997, is a trendy restaurant which has successfully been operating in 2 prime locations: Soi Langsuan 1 and Siam Paragon. Our extensive menu offers the unique combination of most Thai favorites, Italian and European Gourmet and varieties of fusion cuisines. Vegetarian menu is also available."

We have visited them both and found them both equally good.

But I keep forgetting to take a photographs.

If this is the type of food and the atmosphere that you want them this is perfect.

Greyhound Cafe

Greyhound Cafe is a restaurant that we have visited before but I did not know that it was based on something from England "London's favourites now on BKK plates."

Not knowing that this was their goal and after a couple of visits they do a pretty good job of it as well. So if you are not looking for something like this then I wouldn't go.

We have a number of dishes (vegetarian dishes are also available) - the little burger was the winner - note: this was the little one!

A couple of fruit smoothies.

And something with Chinese sausage on it.

Parma Ham.

Here's the menu - funny it wouldn't scroll for me - a very European menu with some touches of Asian - there are noodles for example but we have been here for the European food.

Popular at the moment are exposed ceilings - these with hanging umbrellas.

Street Noodles

So much has been written about Street Noodles.

Top 16 Bangkok Street Sanctuaries

Boat Noodles at The Victory Monument - one of my favourites.

Bangkok's best street food: a guide to dishes and districts.

I have to add that I do not know at times what I have eaten.

There are pros and cons with everything and yes as I watch the health and safety precautions I would say that at times it might not be a good idea?

Sweet Station @ The Mall Bangkapi

Sweet Station is somewhere you go when you need that 'sugar kick' and have had too much of going to the local cafe... I have to add that it is certainly not the most healthy of snacks to have though!

Cappuccino is quite good as well....

Kyoto Japanese Restaurant

Kyoto is a Japanese Restaurant very close to our home and we were lucky to find it. From the road there is a small sign and the restaurant is a short walk away from the side of the road. The restaurant seems to be a small but at the end of the long path.

And when you are there it is a small air-conditioned restaurant which serves the most wonderful Japanese food.

There are a great many choices for you and will be pleased that you came here.

Every dish we had was a pleasure.

Impressed with the food and the price - we have since returned.

Coffee Me @ Pratunam Ferry

Coffee Me is a wonderful but very small cafe at the Pratunam Ferry Terminal.

There is the chance to sit outside and inside - I sit outside where I can watch the coming and goings of the ferries and jump up when I know it's ready.

It might not be the most medically good idea though - as the ferries arrive...

Olan Steak House

One of the wonderful things of living in Thailand is that nothing is ever too much of a rush - we have time. We found this restaurant as we were driving down the road and looking for something to eat. By the side of the road and it looked quite nondescript, although there were people sitting inside and outside. So we stopped.

To our amazement there were a great many Western dishes (which pleased our daughter immensely) and when we see that there was a spaghetti carbonara this was pure joy.

We also ordered some Thai food and we were impressed by how quick the food was delivered.

Although the veggies were cold - but this did not put us off enjoying our dinners and we have been again.

Lady L Garden Bistro

Lady L Garden Bistro is at the Phuket Heritage Home - near to where I work so I try to pop in once a week for a cappuccino.

It is a special place to visit for a little bit of luxury - well for me.

I understand that they also have a restaurant but that is a little too pricy for me!

There is the chance to have a coffee though -

in the restaurant with a tree in it or the more luxurious bit.
