Sala Deng - Local food

I wait outside Sala Deng everyday whilst I wait for the bus to go to work.

There are always a number of people buying the deep fried chicken
and all the other Thai prepared dishes
AND that is for breakfast.

Sataw or 'Stinky Bean'

This is a vegetable which is loved by a number of Thai people.

I had it for dinner at Laem Hin seafood and it can be bought locally at Borae Market.

What does it taste like - mouldy dry pistachio?

home with timinphuket - fresh pasta

The best Italian Restaurant in Phuket is without a doubt La Gaetana.

But I do make my own pasta which is wonderful
but a lot more hard work than sitting in a restaurant.

Central Festival - Zen (closed)

When we want Japanese in Phuket it has to be Zen restaurant.

We always choose a set menu and then gyozas.

The Zen that we choose to go to is on the ground floor of
Central Department Store just outside Phuket Town.

Au Bon Pain - outside Jungceylon in Patong

Au Bon Pain in Central Festival has closed :-(
- It was my favourite place for a cream cheese bagel.

I now have to go all the way to Patong and it is outside Jungceylon,
I do not go often...

Central Festival - Food Court

This is a dish from a plethora of Thai dishes that can be purchased form this food court on the 3rd floor of Central Festival near to the cinema.

Eating here is different.  There are a number (14+) of small 'kitchens' - here you can choose which dish you would like to have and they will prepare it for you.

1) Before you order buy give the ladies at the front some money (250 Baht)
2) These ladies will return a 'card' loaded with your cash.
3) Pick up a tray and cutlery
4) Go to the 'kitchen' of your choice
5) Choose the dish you want
6) The 'card' is given to the chefs - who will deduct the monies from the card
7) Get a drink - same procedure.
8) Eat it
9) Return the card to the ladies and any monies will be returned.

The outlets are popular with the local people Thai people and the prices are low.

The Circle Coffee Boutique 5th visit

This is certainly living up to the place to have a cup of coffee in Phuket Town...

I think they are on facebook?
