24OK! Food&Bistro

24OK! Food Bistro is somewhere I had to escape to me because it was raining.

This is a standard food mall where you first purchase a card to purchase your food and drinks.

When our food is prepared for you then where the food is prepared for you there are a number of condiment for you to add.

When you are sitting at the table there were no further condiments - so I did not realise this until I was too late - whoops - next time I will know how this works...

Praram 9 Kai Yang (พระราม 9 ไก่ย่าง)

Praram 9 Kai Yang (พระราม 9 ไก่ย่าง) is a local Thai restaurant and was certainly a popular place for lunch. Which meant that the food was certainly Thai!

The ordering system was also Thai - you tick on the sheet and make your order - so if you can't read Thai you need one of those Apps which can read Thai and translate it - or go with a Thai person - which I always do...

The Som Tam was prepared specifically for me (no crab).

The rest of the food was wonderful and we have since returned.

The sweetcorn salad was the best.

Head in the Clouds (Art Space)

Head in the Clouds was a wonderful place that I found when I was walking around Bangkok Town it was very near to a part of the Ancient Wall and opposite พิพิธภัณฑ์และห้องสมุดเจ้าอาวาสวัดบวรนิเวศวิหาร.

On entering was surprised to see so much dedication to Salvador Dali - wonderfully interesting

and artists.

It was at this point that I realised that it was also an Art Space for local artists upstairs AND there were also things to eat - it all looked very nice.

BUT I was only there to get a rejuvenation coffee so I sat outside on the side of the road and watched the traffic - quite a nice little spot.

Especially if you are interested in art - follow them on Facebook and I imagine you will see more of what is going to happen soon?

BonChon Chicken

BonChon Chicken is a Korean Fried Chicken Chain which is currently popular in Bangkok - here are the locations.

Here's the menu and here's the specific way to choose how you want your chicken.

Step 1 - Pick a part and size (wings OR drumsticks OR breasts / thighs OR combo) - small, medium, large

Step 2 - Choose a flavour - soy garlic OR hot OR mix

Step 3 - Select a side - coleslaw, kimchi coleslaw, Japanese rice OR sticky rice

Step 4 - Additional sides - pickled radish, coleslaw, kimchi coleslaw, Japanese rice,  kimchi, clear mushroom soup OR sticky rice.

In 2017 there was a #bonchonchickchallenge2017. Great place to meet for lunch but it was rather a messy lunch so go with friends

Din Tai Fung - ติ่น ไท่ ฟง - 鼎泰豐

Din Tai Fung I believe is the best Chinese Restaurant in the Central Embassy Shopping Mall. It is actually a brand from Singapore.

This was something special shared with two friends who came from England - really quite emotional and I can't really recall the quality of the food and whether it was expensive or not.

Recommended for the dumplings...

Thank you

Golden Mount Coffee

On walking up the hill to Wat Saket I was pleasantly surprised to come across this little oasis for this who like a cup of coffee - especially with the tall hill to climb if you are intending on visiting Wat Saket.

The coffee shop is not big and you might find it busy - as it got busy whilst I was there.

The cappuccino that I had was strong, I did not need to add sugar and I would visit there again.
