Parlai seafood

Parlai is a seafood restaurant which is certainly not a glamouros place to look at - in fact it sometimes looks like it do with a good clean..

However, like the best Som Tum in Phuket the food is what you are there for and it is a place that Thai people like to visit which is always a good sign. Then the menu always helps - it is not a plush menu - which also means that they have not spent their money on something else.

Paralai is in a great position - I would also visit the Rawai fresh food market on the other side of the pier and we also like to visit Nikita's Italian adjacent to the water's edge.

We just ordered more and more food and each one was as good as the last one - thank you for the food and the service we received.

Nikita's

Nikita's is a restaurant which we have visited a number of times. The only difference this time was that we were here for the location and to eat Thai food.

Rawai may be more known as a place for Muay Thai boxing and bars but it is not something we look for.

Nikita's is very close to the waterfront and sitting there makes the food taste better - a wonderful location. There is place to park your car if you have one. We have never been in the evening but from what I read it can be busy!

The food was great and this was a real pleasure - I do read that this is because we were with Thai people? So I suggest that take some Thai friends, learn some Thai or get an App to help you order your food. For example I could not eat this Som Tam made for our Thai friends who were with us!!!

More for me was this Som Tam...

So the Thai food was authentic, the beer cold, the company great and we will go back again - thank you for the service.

Nikita's and their pizzas

Nikita's is a popular choice of ours and we have visited previously - the pizzas are great and the view is quite wonderful - well we usually go at lunchtime though so I do not know how busy the restaurant gets when the Muay Thai boxers finish....

So ours is usually a lunchtime review - lovely staff, lovely setting and lovely pizza's - I tried some European food and it was European, I guess that I missed the 'kick' of Thai food...

but I forgot to try whether they had wireless Internet - next time.

Jemma and Mantana wanted a pizza each!!!

Nikita's

Nikita's is a restaurant serving Traditional Italian food (and some Thai dishes) which is in Rawai and on the edge of the seawall - there is a very loyal community which make this their second home.

Thinking of visiting? There are a number of reviews on Tripadvisor or you are able to join them on facebook. Nikita's is also gaining popularity with the Internet community - but I am not aware whether they have wireless Internet.

Well this was a pleasure for my daughter Jemma because she really loves their pizzas - thin and crispy.

We had their som tam and their wonderful deep fried pork and kaffir lime leaves.

Their fruit shakes are also another bonus - go early (unless you want to meet the Muay Thai boxers nearby) and their view is great.

Baan Rimlay

I visited Baan Rimlay which is adjacent to the more popular
restaurant Nikita's on Rawai beach.

I was not impressed by the service of the staff (it was low season)
but the lunch was great.

Nikita's (2nd review)

was in Rawai and I had heard a lot of 'farang talk' about the pizzas at Nikita's - see below.

The chairs were not the most comfortable - I would call them garden furniture chairs - but what the heck.  There was a lovely view of the Bay and if you wanted to prop up the bar you could.

The pizza was too big for just me - i gave a couple of slices to a guest who was on the adjacent table - wonderful pizza - thin and crispy.

Another visit.
I have discovered the reason for their fabulous pizzas - there is a wood burning pizza oven out the back.......... again a very real pleasure.
