Din Tai Fung - ติ่น ไท่ ฟง - 鼎泰豐

Din Tai Fung I believe is the best Chinese Restaurant in the Central Embassy Shopping Mall. It is actually a brand from Singapore.

This was something special shared with two friends who came from England - really quite emotional and I can't really recall the quality of the food and whether it was expensive or not.

Recommended for the dumplings...

Thank you

ราชรสติ่มซำ

ราชรสติ่มซำ is certainly one of our favorite places for Dim Sum in Phuket Town.

In fact in all the times that we have visited I have never been disappointed - and we have certainly been there a number of times - in fact this may be our favourite Dim Sum in Phuket.

I would always recommend having the dishes that they are freshly preparing for you at the front.

and of course the Iced Tea.

ราชรส ตมซำ

ราชรส ตมซำ seems to be our most commonly used Dim Sum restaurant in Phuket that we seem to visit - it is always wonderful and always busy - which makes this a good sign! So how does a Dim Sum restaurant work? Well this is something that was not immediately clear. But in the fridges at the front there are a plethora of different dishes, take a tray and place each dish on it. The cost of each dish is linked to the type of small dish that it is on...

But what each dish is?

Well I have absolutely no idea...

I cannot tell you how beautiful these freshly rolled Dim Sums which are made at the front are but they really must be had.

I love the selection of Dim Sum

and of course the hot tea that is served with it. You really must visit a Dim Sum restaurant in Phuket when you visit - fabulous.

ราชรส ตมซำ

This is certainly a popular place of ours to go - each time we go I try to think of something else to have but we don't.

So it might not be exactly the right thing to do but we do have some wonderful choices.

The freshly made Pork buns (of which there are plenty) are always a god choice.

Then there is a great choice in all of the different Dim Sum - in fact I would choose everything once to find outwit I would like, well that's what I did.

I would go to the fridges surrounding the area and just choose a few. Take them to the staff

and they steam them for you.

I do have a 'soft spot' for these freshly rolled dim sim though...

ราชรส ตมซำ

This is one of our favourite Dim Sum restaurants because it makes the fresh folded dim sum wraps - delicious. This is a Dim Sum restaurant which is convenient place for us to go and it is near to my wife's favourite hairdressing salon...

The Chinese Tea is always exemplary and sometimes we can't get a seat! I would say stay away on the weekends!

This is apparently a chain Dim Sum but I cannot find any more in Phuket.

The restaurant does a great selection of Dim Sum.

I do like the sweetened tea though...

Mala Dim Sum - ตมซำนงสด ติ่มซำ

Mala Dim Sum - ตมซำนงสด ติ่มซ was the place we chose to go because it was convenient, near where we drop our daughter at school.

It is a local Dim Sum restaurant on the outskirts of Kathu. Jamie has visited there and has eaten more food types than we did - we were very simple and we just had a selection of Dim Sum.

There was a very swift turn over of people - we had 'done' our morning and the shops weren't all open yet so we were there with time to spend...

There was a large fridge and we chose the dishes we wanted from there well actually my lovely Thai wife chooses everything for me. Yes it is not inside the 'tourist areas' which means that there was not much in any language but Thai so I am lucky to be with.

They then took them to the 'cook' where they were prepared for us in the traditional steamers and they were lovely and certainly fresh! But how we always get the dishes we chose is beyond me - I am glad that I do not try to know what I want!

There was an option for Thai dishes as well - which I was not aware of! But the dish above  is what my wife had and then I read that Jamie's wife does the same thing!

Whilst I had any number of Dim Sum and of course some Chinese green tea.

I have certainly visited a number of Dim Sum restaurants but this was quite a slick operation - thank you.
