360 Degree Coffee - Andaman Viewpoint

360 Degree Coffee - Andaman Viewpoint is a place which we have wanted to visit -Jamie had previously visited so it was our turn. Okay it is not strictly in Phuket but we do travel over the Sarasin Bridge and it is only 20 minutes from there.

We found that it was also incredibly 'unknown' about on the Internet which was probably because there is another restaurant in Phuket with the same name! But this did mean we got there and it was predominantly Thai people!

The crane was not there to take you up for a better view BUT these was a small water park - so be aware if you bring a small one and they see this they will want to get wet!!!

So how was the food? A plate of simple fried rice was great and very reasonable - in fact the Thai food was very good value. I chose next to have a cake (i like cakes and chocolate and all sweet things) and it did not satisfy my urge - so I had an Thai iced coffee.

Meanwhile my daughter discover a water play area - which we were not prepared for.

Then there was a big swing - which we were able to use.

As we wandered about there was ATV, a Hanging Basket (out of service when we visited) and a shooting range.

All in all a good location and we would go back but stick to the Thai food and take our swimming outfits.

Kopi de Phuket

This is a small and interesting restaurant that I have visited a number of times because of it's very convenient location in Phuket Town.

I do remember having an iced coffee during the Phuket Vegetarian Festival - whilst those outside were partaking.

On reflection of that I really do not recall that many types of drinks there were in the restaurant and I was happy that I wanted an iced coffee. The restaurant itself is an attraction and it does attract a great deal of Thai people - serving breakfast whilst I was there.

This made me looks a little bit more at was for sale in the shop and there was a plethora of items. However today was just an iced coffee. The iced coffee was strong and a little sweet - just the way I like it.

I believe that there is a Kopi Phuket at Phuket airport now but I have yet to try it.

Fresh Mango and sticky rice

1) Fresh Mango and sticky rice

Living in Thailand for a period of time you do eat the Local foods as the Locals prepare.

I am asked a number of times whether I eat the food and I do indicate that I do. Then I am asked whether I think that it is safe for the tourist - I could not indicate this at all BUT I do think you should go and browse and think about it.

Fresh mango is something that I look forward to every mango season in Phuket. There are mangoes available all year round and the best way to tell the season (April to May) is the plethora of street stalla which are selling on the street and how cheap they all are.

The mangoes that you are looking for on the street are the yellow mangoes, there are sometimes green ones but these are the ones to either take home or to use to make a dinner.

Khao Niaw Mamung is what you need to ask for. This is a dish of slices juicy mangoes, glutinous rice (sticky rice), lots of coconut cream and alum.

So how much does a serving cost - about 80 Baht, but I reckon they make enough I suppose?  But i have to add I always ask my wife to chose which mango to have because when I choose it I am invariably wrong. Do I have a guide for it - sorry but no...

Rider Cafe

The Rider Cafe is somewhere which my family and I like to return to rather frequently - even though we are surrounded by all these Thai restaurants! In fact I voted it the Best Burger in Phuket 2015.

There is an extensive menu if you are looking for Western food - there are there some Thai dishes but I have to admit that I have never have tried them. The Rider Cafe Website indicates that this is a hub for bikers but I have not seen many so please don't be put off.

BUT the burgers are an absolute winner. Jamie also writes a blog and he lives in Phuket  and Jamie's blog review of Rider Cafe does read very well and I wonder what more can I add...

The night we chose to visit it was not busy and we were able to make a table for four of us and we all had a great dinner - I wonder what I would have next time though - should I try a salad? (NO i won't).

Then there are the cakes, this was not an easy choice - another plus for the Cafe.

Thanks for the Free WiFi as well.

Then there is the coffee - in fact when's my next visit?

Mellow Yellow

This is really the place to go when you are told by the doctor not to drink coffee.

Here is absolutely the best place to go if you want an iced tea with black jelly!

This visit I was surprised to find out that you could choose how much sugar you wanted but I really did not know if I wanted to know.

There's not a lot more to add - but free WiFi and air conditioning.
